How to play

Goal

2–6 players. First to empty their hand wins.

The deck

Hex cubes show three faces — top, left, and right. In Fruits and Dominos, a cube with the same mark on all three faces is a triple and grants an extra turn.

Formats

  • Fruits — faces show fruit. Match the fruit on each touching face.
  • Dominos — faces show 0 (blank) through 9 pips. Match the pip count on each touching face. The hub is the 9-9-9 engine.
  • Cards — each hex is one playing card (0, A, 2–10, J, Q, K plus wilds). Match rank only. The hub is the Ace of spades. Wilds match any rank and grant an extra turn.

The hub

A hub card sits at the center. Each player owns a radial track that starts from that hub.

Placement

  • Match left or right to grow a horizontal zig-zag.
  • Match top to build a staircase upward.
  • Each player has one path. Play on either end, or on the hub for your first card. You cannot grow off a middle cube.
  • Cubes must share a full face (left, right, or top). A corner touch does not count.
  • If the new card touches one face, that fruit, pip count, or rank must match.
  • If it touches two faces, both must match.
  • You may rotate a card through three orientations.
  • You cannot tuck a card behind a taller stack.

If you cannot play

  1. Draw one card from the orchard.
  2. If you still cannot play, ask the table for an Orchard Offer.
  3. Opponents may offer a card for your track. You pick one if several arrive.
  4. If nobody helps, your track opens and anyone may play on it until you play there again.

Open tracks

Anyone can play on an open track. Playing on your own track closes it.
